Disney Cruise Line signs 15-year Icy Strait Point access agreement with Huna Totem Corporation

Disney Cruise Line has secured long-term access to one of Alaska's most distinctive cruise destinations.
The company and Huna Totem Corporation have signed a 15-year agreement that guarantees preferential access to Icy Strait Point through at least 2041.
The new agreement provides Disney Cruise Line with preferred berthing for one ship per week at Icy Strait Point and includes a minimum annual passenger commitment. The long-term partnership reflects the growing importance of Alaska in Disney Cruise Line's deployment strategy while providing Huna Totem Corporation with greater planning certainty for the destination's future development.
Icy Strait Point, located near the Native Alaskan community of Hoonah, is owned and operated by Huna Totem Corporation, the Alaska Native village corporation representing the Huna Tlingit people. Unlike many privately developed cruise ports, Icy Strait Point is Indigenous-owned, with tourism revenues supporting local jobs, businesses and cultural preservation.
The destination has become one of Southeast Alaska's most popular cruise ports, offering visitors opportunities to experience Tlingit culture, wildlife viewing, whale watching, sport fishing and one of the world's longest zipline attractions. Revenue generated through cruise tourism also supports economic development within the local community.
The agreement comes as Disney Cruise Line continues to expand its presence in Alaska. During the 2026 season, both Disney Magic and Disney Wonder are operating seven-night Alaska itineraries from Vancouver, with scheduled calls at Icy Strait Point on selected voyages.
According to Huna Totem Corporation, the agreement establishes a framework for long-term collaboration between the two organizations while ensuring a consistent guest experience at the destination. The company said the partnership will also support continued investment in facilities and visitor experiences over the coming years.
For Disney Cruise Line, the agreement strengthens its position in the competitive Alaska cruise market, where demand remains strong and premium berthing opportunities at popular destinations are increasingly valuable. Securing preferential access through 2041 provides operational certainty as the cruise line continues to expand its fleet and itinerary offerings.
The agreement further reinforces Icy Strait Point's role as one of Alaska's leading cruise destinations and highlights the growing importance of long-term partnerships between cruise operators and port destinations in delivering sustainable tourism growth.
