Fincantieri and TUI Cruises sign contract for two new cruise ships

FINCANTIERI AND TUI CRUISES (A JOINT VENTURE BETWEEN TUI AG AND ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISES LTD.) TODAY SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF TWO NEW CRUISE SHIPS.

This order replaces the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed with TUI AG in March 2025 for the construction of two Marella Cruises ships.

The ships, which will be delivered in 2031 and 2032, are sister ships to the "Mein Schiff Relax" and "Mein Schiff Flow" of the InTUItion class and will be powered by dual-fuel engines (LNG and MGO). Jobs on Ships

With a gross tonnage of approximately 160,000 tons, the new ships will be larger than those originally planned for Marella Cruises and will be built according to the latest environmental standards. They are thus slightly larger than the sister ships of the InTUItion class, MS Relax and MS Flow, which, with 158,000 gross tons, will be built.

Subject to financing and other conditions typical for this type of contract, the contract value exceeds the value envisaged in the original MoA for the Marella Cruises brand, but remains within the threshold communicated on March 31, 2025.

Fincantieri said the new contract replaces an agreement signed in March with Germany's TUI to build two ships for the Marella Cruises brand and is valued at over €2 billion. Jobs on Ships
