Royal Caribbean Group announced a long-term framework agreement with Meyer Turku, securing Royal Caribbean Group's construction rights at the shipyard for the next decade.

Under this agreement, Royal Caribbean Group also confirms an order for Icon 5, scheduled for delivery in 2028, subject to financing, and adds an option to build Icon 7 (in addition to the previously announced option to build Icon 6). This multi-year agreement strengthens Royal Caribbean Group's relationship with Meyer Turku, one of the world's largest and most modern cruise ship yards, and prepares Royal Caribbean Group for a new, groundbreaking ship class after Icon.

"As we continue to reimagine the future of vacations, we are delighted to continue working with Meyer Turku to further develop the Icon Class—the first series of ships of its kind, delivering exceptional vacation experiences—positioning us to usher in a new era of innovation that will revolutionize the vacation sector through 2036," said Jason Liberty, President and CEO of the Royal Caribbean Group. "This is an exciting time for our company, and we are proud to usher in this new phase of our history together with our valued partners Meyer Turku, the Finnish government, and the Finnish shipping cluster."

To date, Meyer Turku has built two Icon-class ships, the Icon of the Seas (January 2024) and the Star of the Seas (August 2025), and the Royal Caribbean Group has launched them. The third Icon ship – the Legend of the Seas – is scheduled to set sail next year (summer 2026). Delivery of the Icon 4 is planned for 2027. Jobs on Ships

Casimir Lindholm, CEO of Meyer Turku, added: "With the framework agreement now signed, we announce our joint plan for the next decade to build more Icon-class ships in collaboration with the Royal Caribbean Group and other key partners, driving the future of shipbuilding in the next decade. I am extremely proud of the recognition these contracts bring to Meyer Turku's skilled personnel and the expertise of the Finnish shipping industry."

Orders beyond Icon 5 are subject to the exercise of options by the Royal Caribbean Group and the execution of binding construction contracts, which are expected to be subject to customary terms and conditions, including financing.

The Turku shipyard is renowned for its long-standing experience in building world-class ships and has built 25 ships for the Royal Caribbean Group since the mid-1990s. The construction of any cruise ship of this size is the largest single industrial project in the country. Approximately 13,000 people are employed at Meyer Turku and the shipyard's network, generating added value of over one billion euros annually for Finland. Jobs on Ships
