SeaDream III: SeaDream Yacht Club Announces First New Yacht in 25 Years

SeaDream Yacht Club is expanding its fleet for the first time in a quarter of a century.

With SeaDream III, the luxury yacht operator announced its first newbuild in the company's history on September 1, 2026. The approximately 151-meter-long vessel is scheduled to enter service in July 2029 and will accommodate around 200 guests. This will be the first time that the fleet, which currently consists of SeaDream I and SeaDream II, will be expanded with a third yacht.

The newbuild marks an important step for SeaDream. Since its foundation 25 years ago, the company has operated with two comparatively small yachts, deliberately following a different approach from the major cruise lines. SeaDream III will also remain significantly smaller than today's large cruise ships, with capacity for around 200 guests. According to the company, the number of crew members will be close to the number of guests.

The yacht will feature numerous open-air areas. The ship is planned to include several decks with outdoor restaurants and public spaces, a dedicated pool deck and three watersports marinas. Accommodation will be spread across five decks. Private balconies are planned for cabins and suites on four passenger decks. The yacht will also offer a larger selection of suites and more spacious accommodations than the two existing vessels. Spa, fitness and wellness facilities are also being expanded.

SeaDream III's inaugural voyage is scheduled for July 10, 2029, departing from Hong Kong. The ten-night voyage will travel through the Ryukyu Islands and along Japan's Pacific coast to Tokyo, where the official naming ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 21. The yacht will initially operate in Japan and South Korea, visiting destinations including Okinawa, Ishigaki, Yakushima, Hiroshima, Kobe, Osaka, Busan and Jeju.

The yacht will subsequently expand into other regions. Planned itineraries include Southeast Asia and Indonesia, followed by Australia and New Zealand. Further voyages are scheduled to include India, the Arabian Peninsula and the Mediterranean. SeaDream III will then head to Northern Europe, the British Isles, the Norwegian coast, Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland before continuing to Canada and the St. Lawrence River and eventually entering the Great Lakes of North America.

One of the most ambitious itineraries announced so far is a 180-night world voyage scheduled to depart from West Palm Beach on January 5, 2031, and arrive in London on July 5, 2031. After transiting the Panama Canal, the voyage will follow the Pacific coast of South America before crossing the South Pacific to Australia and Southeast Asia. The itinerary will then continue to destinations including Sri Lanka, the Maldives, India, the Arabian Peninsula, Egypt, Jordan and the Mediterranean.

According to SeaDream, the yacht is scheduled to visit six continents, 73 countries and 364 ports during its first 24 months of operation. The extensive deployment indicates that the company intends to use the new yacht for a much broader global itinerary program rather than simply adding capacity to its existing routes.

SeaDream III will also change the scale of the company's fleet. SeaDream I and SeaDream II are considerably smaller, while the new yacht will accommodate more guests. At around 200 passengers, however, SeaDream III will remain firmly within the small luxury cruise segment. Reservations for the yacht's initial voyages opened on September 1, 2026.
