GNV FERRIES NOW OPERATE 31 ROUTES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN

The Italian ferry company Grandi Navi Veloci has again increased capacity in the Mediterranean after a positive 2022 and now serves 31 lines. The Italian islands of Sardinia and Sicily are still among the most popular routes, but the Balearic Islands and Morocco are also experiencing increased demand. The return of European tourists from neighboring countries is also positive. The Maritime Support Center department introduced in mid-2022, which monitors delays and ensures maximum efficiency, will continue to be continuously improved.

AFTER THE PANDEMIC YEARS, GRANDI NAVI VELOCI DRAWS A VERY POSITIVE BALANCE AND LOOKS TO THE FUTURE WITH CONFIDENCE.

Strong demand is expected to continue in 2023 as advance ticket sales have been made possible again.

In general, a return to pre-pandemic levels can be observed. Bookings for this summer season, which started last October, are up 40% compared to 2022.

Demand is high on all of the 31 routes served by GNV ships. Sardinia and Sicily are currently among the routes with the highest volume of bookings, which can be attributed not only to the Italian but also to the European passenger market. A gradual return of foreign tourism, especially from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, can be observed.

THIS YEAR, THE COMPANY'S FOCUS IS ON CONSOLIDATING THE OFFER, ESPECIALLY IN VIEW OF THE INNOVATIONS INTRODUCED IN 2022.

These include increasing capacity for the destination of Sardinia, doubling the number of ships operating on the Balearic Islands and adding an additional route to Morocco.

A total of 31 routes are served to and from Sardinia, Sicily, Spain, France, Albania, Tunisia, Morocco and Malta. The Italian ferry company has already cleared the hurdle of 30 routes in its 30th anniversary year. Depending on market requirements, it cannot be ruled out that further routes will be added to the portfolio over the course of the year.

Since July 2022, the Maritime Support Center department has been in operation, which innovatively monitors delays.

The punctuality rate of GNV is currently 92 percent. The goal is to achieve a punctuality rate of 98 percent and reduce overall delays to just 2 percent.
