Lloyd Werft: Luxury cruise ship "Crystal Serenity" docked for major refurbishment - larger luxury suites, reduced the number of guests from 1,080 to 980

A few days ago in Lisbon, a shipyard team from Lloyd Werft embarked on the 68,870 GT luxury cruise ship "Crystal Serenity" to begin preparations for the upcoming major refurbishment - Details - at Bremerhaven's traditional shipyard during the ferry journey to northern Germany.

This is the second direct intragroup contract between the two companies belonging to the Genting Group, Hong Kong, Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven and Crystal Cruises.
Already last year, Lloyd Werft carried out extensive work on the 51.040 GT "Crystal Symphony".

On October 18th, the "Crystal Serenity", built in France in 2003, is expected in front of the large Kaiserdock II of the Lloyd shipyard. Expected until 6 November, the luxury ship will remain for a multi-million euro renovation in Bremerhaven.

However, the order was split: The interior design is carried out directly by Crystal Cruises or its partner companies.

Lloyd Werft is responsible for the shipbuilding activities and the entire logistical handling of this order. In addition to a large part of Lloyd Werft employees, several 100 crew members and subcontractors will be working on the shipyard in the coming weeks.

In addition to the regular maintenance work for the ship operation, the ship, with a current capacity for 1080 passengers receives new cabins.

Some smaller cabins on deck 10 will be converted into luxurious Seabreeze Penthouse Suites with verandah, including butler service.

In total, 38 new suites are being built, ranging in size from 37 to 50 square meters. After completion of the conversion work, the ship heads back to Lisbon, where on 10 November, the next trip to the Caribbean starts.
