New Ferry Connection: Fred. Olsen Express and Baleària, will launch a new route between Canary Islands and Huelva on November 11th

Fred. Olsen Express and Baleària, through its alliance Canary Bridge Seaways (CBS), will launch the new route between the Canary Islands and Huelva on November 11th. There will be three weekly rotations with two vessels that will guarantee a comprehensive, reliable and quality service.

The route will be triangular between the ports of Huelva, La Luz in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The departures from the Peninsula will be on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m., while from the Canary Islands they will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, at 12:00 p.m. from Las Palmas and at 8:00 p.m. from Tenerife.

These schedules guarantee connections with the rest of the inter-island traffic lines, providing an integral service to customers. Two ships will be destined to the route, one exclusive for the transport of cargo, the Clipper Pennant , and another that allows to transport passage, vehicles and cargo, the Martín i Soler, which will be alternating in the exits of the route, so that every two weeks there will be three exits of single load and other three exits of passengers and cargo.

Ports

Fred. Olsen Express and Baleària have worked in recent months closely with the port authorities of Cádiz and Huelva, who have shown their interest, excellent disposition and support in this new project, both being totally valid alternatives.

However, in response to logistical and commercial reasons, the port of Huelva has finally been chosen. As for the island ports, from whose authorities support has also been received, the details related to docking and port operations areas are being finalized.

Ships

The Martin i Soler de Baleària is a ferry built in 2009, has 165 meters in length and has a capacity for 1,200 people and 330 passenger cars and 1,185 linear meters of cargo. It has several accommodation options (armchairs, upper seats, double and quadruple cabins) and a wide range of services on board including restaurants and cafes, Wi-Fi, swimming pool and shop, among others.

On the other hand, the Clipper Pennant , a specific cargo ship, will make it possible to respond to the current cargo transport demand, and in turn will free to transport goods to the passenger ship, which may thus have a greater number of seats for passenger cars.

Tickets will soon be on sale through the usual channels of both companies. With this alliance, the two companies inaugurate a new traffic offering an integral service of high quality and reliability, both to passengers and distribution customers.
