Oceanwide Expeditions, a 30-year veteran of the polar expedition cruise industry, has today announced the implementation of free onboard internet access for guests, beginning with its upcoming Antarctica 2024-25 season.

Free daily onboard internet access for guests

Guests can now enjoy free internet access throughout their expedition cruise, enabling them to stay in contact with friends and loved ones, share their favorite images and videos from their trip, and enjoy their Oceanwide Expeditions experience to the fullest.
Upon boarding, guests will receive an internet voucher, giving them access to a daily limit of 1.5 GB of free internet connectivity. These guest vouchers will be valid for the duration of the trip, with the allowance of 1.5 GB resetting daily. For guests requiring additional internet availability, supplementary internet vouchers will be available to purchase on board.

An upgrade to Oceanwide Expeditions' motor vessel fleet

This enhanced internet availability will apply to all Oceanwide Expeditions motor vessels: m/v Hondius, m/v Plancius, and m/v Ortelius. With this change, Oceanwide Expeditions expands onboard connectivity options and upgrades the overall guest experience.

"We're delighted to share this evolution of our onboard experience with our guests," says Corné Brouwers, Chief Information Officer, Oceanwide Expeditions. "Staying connected with friends, family, and events back home is so important, and after thoroughly testing internet availability in both polar regions we decided now is the best time to provide this service for free to our guests. With this implementation, we aim to make our trips even more accessible and enjoyable for everyone."

In place from the start of the 2024-25 Antarctic season, which will commence on 18 October 2024, Oceanwide Expeditions' new internet access policy will continue across all future motor vessel trips in both Antarctica and the Arctic.
