Windstar Cruises celebrates the floating of Star Seeker in Viana do Castelo, Portugal
Scheduled to enter service in December 2025, the 224-guest yacht has been moved to a fitting-out dock where work on the interior will continue.
Windstar Cruises’ new Star-class yacht, Star Seeker, has been launched at the WestSEA shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
Scheduled to enter service in December 2025, the ship floated from its construction dock to a nearby outfitting dock where work will continue on the interior, including the 112 spacious suites.
Star Seeker was originally commissioned by Mystic Invest's Atlas Ocean Voyages and was named World Seeker, but the newbuild was acquired by Windstar Cruises in April 2024 along with Star Explorer, originally named World Explorer. This ship is expected to join the Windstar Cruises fleet in December 2026.
When completed, Star Seeker will accommodate 224 guests, with one crew member for every two passengers. The ship will offer guests five dining options, a full-service spa and a "first-of-its-kind" water sports platform that will allow guests direct access to the ocean from the ship.
Star Seeker is scheduled to be christened in January 2026 in Miami, Florida, where Windstar Cruises is headquartered. From here, the ship will sail a series of Caribbean itineraries before heading up the U.S. West Coast to Alaska for the summer season.
