With the New Year quickly approaching, all travelers alike are searching for what will be their next adventure of 2015. If you want to jumpstart your new year with a culturally rich experience that is a feast for your senses, I assure you that you have to look no farther than Royal Caribbean’s latest fleet of ships. After all, why would you choose to take a plane to your next destination when you could be skydiving, watching an aqua-theatre production, or enjoying a gourmet feast in the midst of a simulated Central Park at sea?
In 2014 Royal Caribbean released the world’s first ever “smart ship” called the Quantum of the Seas - VIDEO - and this new invention has taken the travel industry by storm. Travel goers are currently awaiting its sister ship, the Anthem of the Seas, which will be released in 2015. Forget every preconceived notion that you have about cruising and prepare yourself for living in a floating city that promotes excitement, relaxation, and adventure, all while delving into the destinations on your bucket-list.
Here are four reasons why Royal Caribbean has been voted the best overall cruise line for the last eleven years and why their invention of the “smartship” proves that they have no intention of allowing another cruise-line to steal their title.
1.) Effortless travel:
Remember the days of waiting in line at the airport? Say no more with the Quantum and Anthem of the Seas. The entire check-in process can be completed on-line before you even get to the port. Royal Caribbean’s “next generation cruise terminals” allow you to get from the port to the ship within ten-minutes, thanks to their luggage tags that have RFID technology. Each cruise-goer can track the progress of their luggage from Royal Caribbean’s “Royal IQ” application that is free for all smart-phone users. In addition, each traveler receives a WOWband to wear around their wrist that not only serves as an electronic room-key, but also has the capability to make on-board purchases, to keep track of your shore excursions, and can also be used to keep track of payments made at specialty restaurants.
2.) Made for all ages and interests:
Each traveler has a purpose for his or her journey. While some globetrotters want to immerse themselves in another culture and experience an adrenaline rush through their traveling adventures, other individuals are searching for some serenity away from the work place. The good news is, no matter your age or your area of interest, Royal Caribbean’s ships have something or you. For example, the adrenaline junkie can zip-line across the boardwalk on the Oasis of the Seas or even climb to the top of the rock-wall as the ship pulls into St. Thomas. Skydiving is also available on the Quantum of the Seas, in addition to having the opportunity to stand in its glass capsule (the North Star), which rises 300 feet above sea level, and offers all cruisers a 360-degree view of the port of their choice.
If you decide that you want to share the gift of travel with your family, the Royal Caribbean ships are the only fleet that includes the dream-works experience. All children have the opportunity to bond with their favorite dream-works characters as the adventure-ocean staff takes your children to watch 3-d movies or to make a splash in the children’s water-park. The adventure ocean program also engages the children in arts and crafts activities in their elaborate child-facilities and even brings them to play x-box live and virtual games in the arcade. Any parent who has been long-awaiting the opportunity to have a date-night and some time to socialize with the other adults on the ship can drop off their children with the adventure-ocean staff and communicate when to pick them up after dinner via a walkie-talkie. If you are the parent of a teenager, your adolescent can relax and bond with teens alike through the ships’ specialized teen programs.
[Note- Royal Caribbean has an autism program to support any child with autism while staying on their fleet]
Now that you know that your family is safe, its time for you to be wowed by all that Royal Caribbean has to offer. Enjoy Chicago on Broadway, a wine tasting, or a culinary arts class. Experience the spa’s acupuncture facilities, saunas, and state of the art the salons. Attend a comedy show, an art auction, or a live performance by a jazz band. You can even sit on presentations offering you the best advice on how to navigate the ship’s next destination.
3.) Affordable: The hotels that lie in the world’s most precious cities come with a hefty price tag to say the least. Cruising not only allows for affordable first-class travel, but the traveling experience also comes with an abundance of restaurant choices, 24/7 entertainment, and trustworthy travel guides. In fact, Caribbean cruises start at just 150 dollars, not to mention the sales, deals, and benefit program discounts that are available. In addition, the worry of not being able to afford a balcony room is no longer relevant with the virtual balconies on board the Quantum of the Seas. Each and every interior room has a virtual wall installed that vividly portrays the view from outside.
4.) Trustworthy and knowledgeable staff: We travel to experience new cultures and to understand new ways of living. What better way is there to accomplish this than being hosted by some of the most cultured individuals in the travel industry? Not only does the Royal Caribbean staff come from all six continents to work on their distinguished ships, but they have also spent months living on the ship of your choice, which means that they have had extensive travel experience within your route. Whether you are sitting down to a secluded lunch by the spa pools, or are being served a drink in the word’s first-ever bionic bar with robot bartenders, the staff is always offering their travel tips and advice. By the end of your cruise vacation you will have made strong bonds with the workers and feel inspired by their vast knowledge, as well as their personal stories.
It is clear that the imbedded technology on the Quantum of the Seas has placed Royal Caribbean as a front-runner for all travelers during the year 2015. Between the entertainment areas that transform from day to night (offering its users 270 degree panoramic views), to the first ever Seaplex, which is comprised of bumper-cars, a flying-trapeze, and even a floating DJ booth entertaining all Royal Caribbean fans alike. Moreover, the company has gained the largest following and has been named the best overall cruise-line for the 11th consecutive year because their ships truly give their travelers a taste of home and a sense of comfort in unknown places. Whether you are hoping to jump-start your new year with an adrenaline rush by zip-lining through the rainforests of Costa Rica or are hoping to relax and unwind with an afternoon on the pink beaches of Bermuda, Royal Caribbean’s latest fleet of ships are sure to get you immersed in the destination of your choice.
In terms of my own personal experience with the company, it seems as if I have noticed one commonality about the last day of a cruise. As I sit on the top deck, overlooking the sparkling sea, it seems as if I always hear people beginning to plan their next cruise on the company’s next anticipated ship. It seems as if we all feel inspired by being surrounded by the great minds of so many passionate travelers, in addition to being able to relate to the same feeling of taking your first steps off the ship after arriving at one of Royal Caribbean’s prized destinations. You will realize that for the first time (in a long time) you truly feel breathless.
