ONE OF NORTHERN IRELAND'S BIGGEST TOURIST ATTRACTIONS CELEBRATES ITS BIRTHDAY:

Titanic Belfast opened on March 31, 2012 and has been captivating visitors for the past ten years.

The story of the famous wrecked ship Titanic, which left its place of birth in Belfast 110 years ago and began its disastrous journey from Southampton via Cherbourg and Cobh in Ireland (then Queenstown), is retold on six floors. The abrupt end on April 15, 1912 is world famous and the subject of numerous films, documentaries and myths.

Titanic Belfast is considered one of Northern Ireland 's most iconic landmarks  and was named the world's leading tourist attraction in 2016. This special waterfront attraction is housed next to the original drawing offices of Harland & Wolff, the Hamilton Graving Dock and the Titanic Slipways - exactly where the mighty RMS Titanic was designed, built and launched.

Across six floors and in nine interactive galleries, the breathtaking and world's largest exhibition on the tragic history of the famous luxury liner tells the story of the legendary ship from its conception through construction and launching in Belfast Lough to its fateful maiden voyage and its later place in the Story. Visitors learn new things about the background and history of the shipwreck, as well as about the shipyards and the city of the people who built it.

There is no greater history and no better place to discover it than Titanic Belfast, which over the past decade has not only captivated millions of people but also a wealth of maritime heritage attractions in the surrounding port city has produced.
